Padlet + AI Agent: Auto-Collect Homework, Grade, and Give Feedback

If you use Padlet to collect student work, you should try letting an AI Agent handle the follow-up — downloading, grading, and replying with feedback. All automated.

Why combine Padlet with an AI Agent?

Padlet is great for collecting work, discussions, and polls. But the after work is what takes time:

  • Downloading each student's attachments one by one
  • Reading and grading each submission
  • Leaving individual comments on every post
  • Tallying poll results

This is repetitive labour. An AI Agent's value is: it handles the labour, so you can focus on teaching design.

What you'll need

  • Padlet — paid version (API-supported plan)
  • AI Agent — any MCP-compatible agent (Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex, AntiGravity)
  • Padlet MCP — a connector that lets your Agent control Padlet

Create boards on demand

One command to create a full discussion board with sections, guiding questions, and polls:

You: "Create a new Padlet board called 'AI in Education Debate'.
   5 sections: Introduction, Arguments For, Arguments Against,
   Class Poll, Student Reflections. Add relevant content to each section."

Download student work automatically

You: "Download all student attachments from 'Section 3' of this board"

Auto-grade and leave feedback

You: "Review every post in 'Section 2', leave specific constructive feedback,
   and ❤️ every submission that meets the criteria"

Analyse poll results

Important mindset

The AI Agent saves you time — it doesn't replace your teaching expertise.

You still design the activities, set learning objectives, and decide grading criteria. The Agent just handles execution: creating boards, downloading work, grading submissions, leaving feedback. Teaching design stays with you.

Limitations

  • Requires Padlet paid version (API access)
  • Cannot delete or edit existing cards (API safety restriction)
  • Section count must be set when creating a board — can't add sections later
  • Can't upload local files directly; use a GitHub repo as an image host

Getting started

  1. Make sure you have a paid Padlet account
  2. Go to Padlet Settings → Developer → Get your API Key
  3. Install an AI Agent (OpenCode / Claude Code / Codex)
  4. Install a Padlet MCP connector
  5. Start prompting your Agent to control Padlet
